Foreign media Videocardz cited sources MEGAsizeGPU news that Nvidia RTX 4080 12GB and 16GB memory version may be launched at the same time.
The source said that the RTX 4080 16GB will be based on the AD103GPU, while the RTX 4080 12GB is likely to be based on the smaller AD104 GPU. The RTX 4080’s 12GB GDDR6X memory reference design will use a 10-layer PCB, while the 16GB memory model will use a 12-layer PCB, and the two models will use completely different PCB schemes.
The RTX 4080 is expected to be equipped with AD103 GPU with 9728 CUDA cores and 340W of TBP power consumption, according to previous information.
The news that Nvidia will be the first to release RTX 4090 models in October, with 16384 CUDA cores, equipped with 24GB GDDR6X memory, 450W TBP power consumption.
