According to the official blog released by Nvidia, the Nvidia RTX 4060 Ti graphics card 8G and 16G version of the game performance is basically the same, 16G version is more suitable for professional applications.
Officially, both versions of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti (8GB and 16GB) can run at the highest graphics settings and deliver the same performance in most games. Sometimes games may launch an optional oversized texture pack and allocate more video memory, and a small number of games run best at the “high” settings on the 4060 Ti 8GB, while they can run at the highest quality settings on the 4060 Ti 16GB.
In addition to gaming, GeForce RTX cards are used worldwide for 3D animation, video editing, motion graphics, photography, graphic design, architectural visualization, STEM, live streaming, and AI. Some of the applications used in these industries may benefit from the additional large video memory. For example, when editing 4K or 8K timelines in Premiere, or creating large architectural scenes in the D5 renderer.
NVIDIA also says that on the latest 128-bit memory bus GeForce RTX 4060 Ti GPU, the 8GB model uses four 16Gb GDDR6 chips and the 16GB model uses eight 16Gb chips. Mixing memory chips of different capacities is not possible, for example, it is not possible to go for a 12GB model here. That’s why the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti has a larger memory (16GB) option compared to the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti and 4070, which have 192-bit memory bit widths and 12GB of memory.
