Nvidia recently released new vBIOS firmware for old Quadro and GeForce GTX series graphics cards, focusing on fixing the black screen problem during booting Win10 / Win11 when an external monitor is connected through the DisplayPort 1.3/1.4 interface.
Nvidia has also introduced a special software tool that can automatically detect whether a specific graphics card needs an update, download it, and install it itself.
Nvidia’s new firmware mainly fixes two problems with external monitors connected via DisplayPort: black screen on boot screen and freezing when first turned on. These two problems should be fixed after graphics cards such as Titan XP, Titan X (Pascal), and Titan GTX 750 Ti are upgraded.
Nvidia also stated that it fixed these problems on Pascal graphics card models and Maxwell Quadro graphics cards, but the official did not provide a clear list of graphics cards.
