NVIDIA’s canceled RTX 4080 12GB will reappear on January 5 as the NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti, expected to be CNY 799 / CNY 6499.
Videocardz now has the official performance data for the RTX 4070 Ti. The card scored 11,258 points in 3DMark TimeSpy Extreme (4K) and 13,698 points in FireStrike Ultra (4K), which is close to the previous generation’s flagship card, the RTX 3090 Ti ($ 1999); 20%-30% weaker than the RTX 4080 and 32%-39% stronger than the RTX 3070 Ti.
It even slightly outperforms the Navi 31-based RX 7900 XT (CNY 899, $ 7,399) when using ray tracing, which is the case in Speed Way and Port Royal benchmark tests but slightly underperforms normally.
The official website of Nvidia has now updated the parameter information of RTX 4070 Ti, basically confirming that this is the RTX 4080 12G that Nvidia cut off not long ago.
As shown above, the RTX 4070 Ti has a 7680 CUDA core with an acceleration frequency of up to 2.61GHz, 100MHz higher than the RTX 4080/4090, with 12GB of GDDR6X memory and the same core specifications as the cancelled RTX 4080 12G.
NVIDIA will hold a new launch event on January 4, 2023 at 0:00 GMT, in addition to the RTX 4070 Ti, NVIDIA is also expected to release the RTX 4070 model, which features the AD104-250-A1 GPU with 5888 CUDA cores and 12GB of 21Gbps GDDR6X memory.
