However, ATX 3.0 power supply is not necessary, RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 graphics cards can still be achieved through the transfer interface to support the 8pin power supply interface, the current power supply can still be used.
The second problem is how much power is needed. NVIDIA officially recommends the RTX 4090 graphics card with an 850W power supply, the RTX 4080 16GB with a 750W power supply, and the RTX 4080 12GB with only a 700W power supply.
However, NVIDIA’s power recommendation is based on the Rex 9 5900X processor platform, whose TDP is only 105W, but AMD’s Rex 7000 and Intel 13 generation Core are coming to market, and players buying new cards are more inclined to choose a new generation of platforms, and processor power consumption will be significantly increased, with more realistic PL2 power consumption generally above 200W.
