The Nothing Phone (1) phone got its first Android 13-based Nothing OS 1.5 Beta about a month ago, and now Nothing is pushing a second Beta of Android 13 to Nothing Phone (1) users who join the program, in a 127MB download package. According to Nothing CEO Carl Pei, this is four days ahead of schedule.

The Beta 2 release includes new minimalist wallpapers, customizable lock screen shortcut buttons, a new “graphical ringtone and slightly different style notification sound pack,” an improved network quick settings panel that allows for quick data usage switching when using dual SIM cards, smoother animations when opening or closing the screen, enhanced auto-brightness algorithm, improved camera app UI and animations, and extended battery life.
System stability has also been improved, and bugs have been extensively fixed. The full Nothing X app is now built into the OS, and the pop-up view is finally back with “some interaction improvements”.
The Nothing Phone (1) is the company’s first smartphone, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ chip. The smartphone comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 memory and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The phone comes with Android 12 pre-installed with NothingOS 1.0.
The Nothing Phone (1) offers 50MP dual rear cameras, including a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary camera and a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultra wide-angle sensor. A 16-megapixel selfie camera is on the front. The smartphone features a 120Hz OLED display with 1200nits peak brightness (initially limited) and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.
The Nothing Phone (1) is powered by a 4500mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging, as well as 15W Qi wireless charging and 5W, reverse wireless charging.
