AMD today released the Ryzen 7040HS series notebook processors, which use a 4nm process, use an 8-core Zen4 CPU and RDNA3 core display, and are equipped with the latest Ryzen AI engine.
AMD’s details page that the memory support capacity of AMD Ryzen 7040HS series processors has reached 256GB, while the previous generation Ryzen 6000HS series only supports 64GB.

In terms of memory frequency, the latest 7040HS series supports DDR5-5600 and LPDDR5x-7500, which is improved compared to the old models.
AMD Ryzen 7040 HS series model parameters are as follows:
R9 7940HS: 8 cores 16 threads, up to 5.2GHz, 40MB cache, 35-45W TDP
R7 7840HS: 8 cores 16 threads, up to 5.1GHz, 40MB cache, 35-45W TDP
R5 7640HS: 6 cores 12 threads, up to 5.0GHz, 38MB cache, 35-45W TDP
The notebooks equipped with Ryzen 7040 HS series processors will be available in March 2023.
