Nokia Bell’s official WeChat public account updated the article today, announcing the launch of the first 5G integrated drone solution certified by the European Union CE.
It is learned from Nokia Bell’s official WeChat account that this 5G integrated drone solution includes Nokia drones, docking stations, dual gimbal cameras and Nokia MXIE edge cloud processors. It operates over 4G/LTE and 5G network connections for high reliability. Meanwhile, beyond-visual-line-of-sight (BVLOS) operations and real-time kinematic (RTK) positioning improve its situational awareness.
The news shows that the Nokia drone network solution can be used for long-range search and rescue operations and assess damage in dangerous environments. Nokia drones can also be programmed to manage autonomous scheduled flights, or used to manage routine remote equipment inspections. The docking station protects the drone, along with the payload of sensor equipment or dual gimbal cameras, from external hazards and inclement weather, and remotely charges the drone, ready for its next flight.
When paired with Nokia MXIE, data from Nokia drones can be collected and processed in real time in the edge cloud. The open API framework enables agencies and enterprises to onboard pre-integrated Nokia and third-party applications and systems to automate drones for numerous public safety and Industry 4.0 use cases, including object recognition, tracking and network measurements.
