Recently, HMD released a public statement that the contract between HMD and Zeiss has expired, and the cell phones launched in the future will no longer have the Zeiss certified logo and small blue label. The statement said, “After a long and successful partnership, both ZEISS and HMD Global have agreed not to extend their non-exclusive relationship in 2021, which includes the imaging technology partnership for ‘Nokia’ branded smartphones with ZEISS as a consulting and development partner. “

The foreign media Nokiaob.net contacted Zeiss, which said that the partnership between HMD and Zeiss has ended in 2021, but only recently issued an official statement.

The official website of Zeiss can also see that only Sony and vivo are left as brand partners of Zeiss.

Nokia’s first ZEISS-branded phone, the Nokia N90, was launched in early 2005, followed by the 808, N8, N82, N85, N95 and other models that took photos that could kill their contemporaries at the time, and last year’s Nokia XR20 became the last Nokia phone with ZEISS support.

There is no news that the two companies will cooperate again, as for the reason outside speculation may be because HMD wants to reduce the cost of Nokia phones.
