Nokia C31 phone with 6.7-inch display released, T21 Tablet unveiled with stylus support

HMD Global today unveiled the new Nokia X30 and G60 phones, but as long-supported 5G phones, these devices are priced higher. The company also unveiled its new TWS wireless headset and Bluetooth speaker.

Nokia C31
The Nokia C31 phone has a 6.75-inch display and although not as large as the C30, the body measures 169.2 mm x 78 mm x 8.6 mm and weighs 200 grams. It features an HD+ LCD display covered by tempered glass.

The Nokia C31 is powered by the ZTE 9863A1 chip with a 28nm process, eight Cortex-A55 cores (1.6GHz) and a PowerVR GE8322 GPU. The phone runs full Android 12 (instead of the Go version) and promises 2 years of quarterly security patches (though no system updates). There are three memory configurations: 3GB+32GB, 4GB+64GB and 4GB+128GB. storage can be expanded up to 256GB (dedicated slot) on a microSD card.

The Nokia C31 phone features a 13 MP primary camera, 2 MP macro and 2 MP depth camera, and a 5 MP selfie camera on the front. The phone comes with the Android Go camera app developed by Google and the GoPro Quick app for quick and easy photo and video editing. The front camera supports face unlock even if the user is wearing a mask, or can also use the fingerprint reader on the back.

The Nokia C31 phone has a built-in 5050mAh battery but only supports basic 10W charging, still uses the micro USB port, and has an IP52 protection rating for dust and drip protection.

The Nokia C31 is a 4G phone (LTE Cat.4) with dual nanoSIM slots (plus an additional microSD slot). The phone also supports a 3.5 mm headset jack and FM radio receiver, Wi-Fi b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.2.

The Nokia C31 starts at 240 euros (about $1658.4) for the 3GB+32GB base model and will be available worldwide starting today. Available in Charcoal, Teal and Mint.

Nokia T21
The Nokia T21 features a 10.4-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 2,000 x 1,200 pixels (15:9). It supports an active stylus (Wacom WGP and Wacom Active ES 2.0) and can also be used as a secondary display for Windows PC.

The tablet is powered by the ZTE T612 chip (12nm, 2x Cortex-A75 + 6x Cortex-A55, Mali-G52), runs Android 12, has 4GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage, expandable up to 512GB with a microSD card. hmd promises 2 OS updates and 3 years of monthly security patches for the tablet.

The tablet can be used on the go thanks to the optional 4G connectivity, which also supports voice calls and texting. Interestingly, the tablet supports a hybrid slot, so you can have two nano sims (or SIM+microSD).

Nokia T21 features an 8 MP front camera (8 MP camera on the back) and users can stream video (with Netflix HD certification) or make video calls. The aluminum body used is very rugged (with a 50% recycled plastic cover over the antenna for better reception) and the tablet itself has an IP52 rating.

The Nokia T21 uses an 8200mAh battery (rated at 800 cycles) and supports up to 18W fast charging and USB-C 2.0 (PD 3.0). There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack (and stereo speakers). Depending on the market, a basic 10W charger and the protective case will be included in the retail package.

The Nokia T21 tablet is priced from 130 euros (about $898.3) and comes in a Wi-Fi version with 4GB+64GB of RAM, as well as a 4G LTE-enabled version.

TWS headphones and wireless speakers
HMD also announced the Nokia Clarity Earbuds 2 Pro, a TWS headset with Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Bluetooth 5.2 with multipoint connectivity and fast pairing.

The Nokia Clarity Earbuds 2 Pro TWS headphones feature 13mm neodymium drivers and IPX4 waterproof protection. It lasts up to 7 hours of playback time alone (9 hours without ANC) and up to 28 hours total (36 hours without ANC). The headset can fully charge a 60mAh battery in less than 2 hours, and the charging case 500mAh battery takes about 2 hours to fully charge (via USB-C). The box is made of 100% post-consumer recycled material and the packaging is also made of recycled material.

Nokia Portable Wireless Speaker 2 uses Bluetooth 5.1 and can be connected two at a time for stereo playback. It’s a rugged, small speaker with an IPX7 rating and is very environmentally friendly – the enclosure is made from 100% post-consumer waste and the mesh is 100% recycled aluminum.

The speakers feature a single 5W driver (45mm) and a 1200mAh battery, enough for 22 hours of continuous playback. Charging is done via USB-C. The speaker measures 90 x 90 x 74 mm and weighs 225 grams.

The Nokia Clarity Earbuds 2 Pro and Portable Wireless Speaker 2 will be available in select markets later this month. The wireless headset will cost 100 euros (about RMB 691) and the speaker will cost 55 euros (about RMB 380.05).
