Today, NIO announced the launch of an upgrade service for electric suction doors for users. Owners of 2022 and earlier NIO ES8, ES6, and EC6 can choose to purchase it at a cost of 4,998 CNY.
It is worth mentioning that the first batch of this service is only 1,200 sets, and it is expected that the delivery and installation will start in sequence from September 12th, and the second batch will be delivered and installed in mid-October. The subsequent supply will be based on adjustments to actual conditions.
Weilai said that they have upgraded and modified the original car in terms of adaptability, functional experience, safety and reliability, and completed comprehensive and strict testing and national compulsory product certification.
First of all, in order to minimize changes to the original car door lock, NIO has readjusted the product structure and optimized the core parts, fully retaining the design and functionality of the original car door lock. In terms of the safety and functional experience of the electric suction door, foreign object interruption, segmental self-priming and suspension during the suction process are added.
Secondly, NIO conducted comprehensive and rigorous testing and certification for the optimized product solution. After more than 40 rigorous product tests, it obtained the national CCC certification. The design and testing of software and hardware are based on vehicle-level standards. It also conducted durability tests, high and low temperature adaptation tests, and door lock operation tests under extremely harsh conditions (such as salt spray, corrosion, freezing, dust, etc.), and all passed the tests.
It is reported that the electric suction door and the corresponding door lock parts are provided by the NIO service center, and can enjoy a 3-year warranty period for individual parts. At the same time, after purchasing and installing the official electric suction door rear installation upgrade service in the NIO Mall, if the vehicle is within the vehicle warranty period, the vehicle warranty rights of the original parts will continue to be enforced.
