NIO: ET9 model to adopt 900V high-voltage architecture, release on December 23rd

Bi Lu, assistant vice president of electric drive and high-voltage systems of NIO, said on his personal Weibo that NIO ET9 will adopt a “900V” high-voltage architecture that breaks the industry upper limit. Previously, the car had been confirmed to be released at the NIO Day event on December 23.

Bilu said that the adoption of a 900V architecture means that on the premise of further reducing the weight of the high-voltage wiring harness in the vehicle, faster charging performance of the entire vehicle can be achieved. Combined with NIO’s power swap system, it creates the best solution for comprehensive energy replenishment experience. At the same time, on the new intelligent electric drive platform, the weight and volume of the motor have been further reduced, and a number of “black technologies” have been adopted in product design to achieve higher power density.

Bi Lu also added that, combined with the safer and more reliable high-voltage power distribution safety redundancy architecture and front and rear dual-motor power redundancy system, as well as NIO’s self-developed big data system and intelligent control algorithm, it can also monitor the health status of the 900V electric drive system. Real-time online diagnosis and continuous optimization and matching of control parameters combined with user driving habits ensure efficient, safe and reliable power output.

In the previous warm-up, Xiao Baihong, head of NIO’s vehicle application software, posted on Weibo, announcing that the new executive flagship sedan ET9 will be equipped with a fully wired intelligent chassis.

According to reports, the “brain” of the fully wired intelligent chassis equipped with NIO ET9 has evolved into the VMC intelligent computing platform, which realizes the decoupling of software and hardware. It supports flexible deployment in combination with Tianshu SkyOS and can expand new functions and new wired control hardware; above It is connected to AD intelligent driving and connected to various actuators, integrating drive system, braking system, steering system, active suspension and other wire-controlled hardware.

In addition, because VMC is data-driven, the fully wired intelligent chassis has the ability to evolve, iterate, and grow.

It is noticed that there are only three days left before the debut of Weilai ET9, and the appearance of this new car has not yet been announced.
