As the unveiling date nears, the NIO ES7 is getting bolder with more photons reaching the media, the car having given away its camouflage. Last time the car showed its front face and this time it revealed its back.
NIO ES7- features seen through photos
While the earlier photos had already revealed that the car would sport an orange colour, the recent spy photos, in addition to verifying the hue, revealed the through-type taillight design similar to the one on the newly launched ET7 sedan. From what is seen in the pictures, the car has a rear design divergent from that found on the ES6 and ES8.
A high-definition rear-view camera can be spotted in the images, suggesting that the car will enjoy Weilai’s NAD automatic driving assistance function. While the rear badge looks smudged in the images what one can readily make out is the rear windshield of the car that has a comparatively greater slope.
NIO ES7- Previous leaks
Earlier images that had exposed the front face of the car, had revealed three horns above the front windshield, implying that the car would come equipped with LiDAR and a tower lookout camera. It was these revelations, then, that gave the first hint that the car would carry the ability to reach NAD. Possessing self-driving abilities means that, in addition to having the NAD autonomous driving assistance system, the vehicle must also have the NIO Aquila super-sensing system and super-computing platform, Adam. So, the car is expected to come loaded with these leading-age technologies.
Based on the NT2.0 technology platform, the car would have its place in the market between ES6 and ES8 as a mid-to-large 5-seater SUV. It would be the company’s first SUV based on this platform.
NIO-ES7- launch date
COVID outbreaks in several regions of China brought a delay in the car’s launch which was originally planned to hit the market at the end of April month. Now the car is slated to be launched at the end of May.
