NIO Air AR Glasses Launched: 130-inch 3D Viewing Effect

The NIO Air AR Glasses, developed by Azure and AR startup Nreal, are now available in the Azure Car Store, providing a cinema-quality 3D in-car viewing experience with a 130-inch equivalent HD screen + 256-color ambient lighting + Dolby Atmos + 7.1.4 immersive sound system, according to Azure’s official microblogging site.

The NIO Air AR Glasses are the world’s only AR glasses with in-car stabilization and are an integral part of Azera’s panoramic digital cockpit PanoCinema. The NIO Air AR Glasses, developed by Azera and Nreal, an innovative AR device company with Azera Capital, support binocular 1080P 3D display and 108% sRGB color gamut coverage, with 7.1.4 immersive sound system and Dolby Atmos technology to provide a full sensory immersion experience. Based on the multimodal sensory fusion of glasses and cabin sensors, Azera and Nreal have jointly developed anti-shake and anti-glare technology to provide a comfortable viewing experience during the dynamic driving of the vehicle.

According to the official introduction, compared to Nreal Air AR, the NIO Air AR Glasses jointly developed by Azera and Nreal have an exclusive logo design, in-car kit parts dedicated for in-car scenarios, higher brightness and a shade design suitable for in-car use. The NIO Air AR Glasses cannot be directly connected to the car, but the Azure Air Car Kit is the basis for the AR glasses to be connected to the car. The NIO Air AR Glasses can’t be connected directly to the car, the Azera Air Car Kit is the basis for the AR Glasses to be connected to the car.

Based on Azera’s self-developed XR OS, users can control AR and vehicle cockpit functions via NOMI voice, NIO Air Ring and a dedicated mobile app. The NIO Air Ring, jointly developed and manufactured by Azera and NOLO, is a 3DoF remote control that supports spatial interaction and can be used as a remote control in the Azera cabin with NIO Air AR Glasses to control content and interaction in XR OS.

In terms of content, Azure will provide users with nearly 200 3D movies and over 260 Dolby Atmos movies through the Acuity Video app.

From now on, NIO Air AR Glasses will officially open a limited number of pre-sale in the car mall and will be shipped in order of order from mid to late September.
