Nintendo Switch 2 handheld outperforms Sony PS5 and Microsoft XSX in ray tracing

According to WCCFTECH reports, NateTheHate, a whistleblower who is considered reliable, revealed the performance of Nintendo’s new generation Switch handheld console through the YouTube channel tonight.

It said that the new generation of Switch handheld console can run “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” at 4K and 60 frames after turning on Nvidia DLSS technology. Additionally, he revealed that the demo had no “loading time” at all.

On the other hand, NateTheHate also talked about running the Unreal 5 demo of “The Matrix: Awakening” on the new generation of Switch handheld console, saying that it has better light tracing performance than Sony PlayStation 5 and Microsoft Xbox Series X. According to previous reports, the trial demo of the game uses DLSS 3.1 technology, not the latest version, which is DLSS 3.5.

The source also said that this handheld console will be officially announced in March next year, but it is still unclear whether it will be “debuted” or “on sale.”

It was previously reported that a number of foreign media had confirmed that Nintendo provided a “secret demonstration” of the next-generation Switch to some personnel during the Cologne Show, and necrolipe, the editor-in-chief of Foreign Media UnivNintendo, revealed that he obtained the information from “reliable people”. It is known that the next generation Switch will be equipped with 12GB of RAM, which is three times that of the current Switch. For comparison, Sony PS5 and Microsoft Xbox Series X are equipped with 16GB of RAM, and the Xbox Series S is 10GB.

According to previous news from foreign media VGC, Nintendo used Nvidia’s DLSS 3.5 technology during internal demonstrations. Inecrolipe said that the message he received was “DLSS 3.1”. VGC has now deleted the number “3.5” in the original text. , so the statement of DLSS 3.1 should be more correct.

In addition, VGC also stated that the visual effects of the new generation of Switch are comparable to current game consoles from Sony and Microsoft, but this does not mean that it can be close to the performance of PS5 or Xbox Series X under the default handheld power consumption.
