The Nikkor Z 40mm f/2 (SE) lens released by Nikon in November 2022 will go on sale today, priced at 2099 CNY. This lens is compatible with full-frame/FX-format mirrorless cameras with Nikon Z mount.
According to reports, the NIKKOR Z 40mm f/2 (SE) is a compact and lightweight prime lens with a traditional design that matches the Nikon Z fc body. “(SE)” in the product name is an abbreviation for “Special Edition”. The lens inherits the design of classic NIKKOR lenses released around the same time as the Nikon FM2 film SLR camera, such as the knurled control ring. The NIKKOR Z 40mm f/2 (SE) expands the selection of lenses that match the traditional design of the Z fc.
The Nikkor Z 40mm f/2 (SE) has the same optical performance as the Nikkor Z 40mm f/2. Users can easily enjoy the image expression of beautiful circular bokeh with an f/2 constant maximum aperture. The overall length of the lens is about 45.5mm, and the weight is about 170g. It is small in size and light in weight, making it easy to carry around. The lens’ 40mm focal length provides a highly versatile angle of view for a wide variety of scenes and subjects, including bokeh portraits, snapshots and still lifes. When used with an APS-C size/DX-format camera such as the Z fc, the lens provides a mid-telephoto angle of view comparable to a 60mm lens (35mm format), allowing the main subject to stand out.
