Next-generation hardware, Nintendo Switch Pro expected to come out next year

The Legend of Zelda, Tears of the Kingdom, and Pokemon: Violet players have been waiting for, and the rumored Nintendo Switch Pro or Switch 2 is once again on the rise.

A Nintendo subsidiary that focuses on developing “Pokemon” content has once again released a scathing piece of news that the development of the next Nintendo console is well underway, sparking speculation about the new NS.

Pokemon developer Creatures Corporation mentioned “next-generation hardware / next-generation hardware” in a new Japanese department job list released earlier this week, and began recruiting “research and development on next-generation hardware The company has started recruiting workers for “research and development on next-generation hardware” and expects to earn 5 to 6 million yen per year.

Although there are no details about this “next-generation hardware,” the company, as one of Pokémon’s major shareholders, has been involved in the production of the Pokémon series of card games, toys, and video games for years, so they are certainly capable of getting inside information from Nintendo.

Whether the “next-generation hardware” mentioned in the announcement refers to a new, fully upgraded machine or the previously rumored high-end revision of the Switch Pro, this development is another indication that Nintendo is indeed working on something other than its current console. Also, with the retirement of the company’s Wii U and 3DS only a few months away, it’s expected that the new titles will only support the Switch platform starting next March.

Following the Switch Lite in 2019 and the Switch OLED model in 2021, rumors of a high-end version of the Nintendo Switch, which we can call the Switch Pro for now, have been at a high in recent years.

While the Switch Pro rumor hasn’t been fully confirmed, several industry tipsters have insisted that Nintendo will release another console in the near future. Bloomberg, for example, previously reported that a 4K version of the Switch Pro console was in development, with DLSS support, but Nintendo said its information was completely incorrect.

However, the Nintendo Switch OLED’s dock does support 4K picture quality output, although the console itself does not. Currently, the common speculation online is that the Nintendo Switch Pro will be equipped with a new Nvidia Tegra chip with more memory and support for 4K output.

In addition, in the previously leaked Nvidia DLSS source code, there is indeed a shadow of Nintendo’s next-generation console, and there are also documents that mention T239. NVNDLSS refers to the Switch’s DLSS feature, implying that the Switch 2 supports DLSS.

In addition, kopite7kimi, a Twitter user who often breaks news about Nvidia, also said that T239 is the Soc used in the new generation Switch, codenamed Drake.

The most famous of these revelations is naturally what @Moore’s Law is Dead revealed, saying that developers have already gotten the new Switch development kit and that Nintendo may release a new Switch console within 6 months.

The latest version of the Switch is the OLED version, equipped with a 7-inch OLED screen, equipped with 64G internal storage, handheld mode supports up to 720P / 60 frames, TV mode is still 1080P / 60 frames.

Of course, so far Nintendo has never officially announced or revealed any news. However, considering the NS OLED release before the same, we might as well look forward to it.
