Recently, we obtained a set of actual car pictures of FAW-Volkswagen’s new Magotan from relevant channels. It is officially called the new Magotan B9 and will be unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show on April 25. The new car adopts a new exterior and interior design and will be equipped with DJI’s newly released intelligent driving solution. In the future, the car will provide two power options, 1.5T four-cylinder and 2.0T, for consumers to choose from. The design of the new Magotan B9 comes from the hands of legendary designer Marco Pavone, the current Volkswagen exterior design director. Since Magotan was introduced to China in 2007, it has maintained the standards of German prototypes in terms of powertrain, chassis tuning, electrical architecture, body structure, etc., and has achieved total sales of more than 2 million units with excellent product quality.
“Real car pictures previously exposed”
From the appearance, the new car adopts a new family-style design style. The narrow-striped front grille is connected to the headlight groups on both sides. It is equipped with a through-type chrome trim strip in the center, making the front of the car look wider and more majestic. Judging from the previously exposed pictures, the Volkswagen brand LOGO in the center can be lit, and there are penetrating light strips on both sides, which greatly enhances the sense of technology. The lower part of the front of the car is equipped with chrome trim strips and air guide grooves to further enhance the sporty feel.
Looking from the side of the body, the car has a waistline that runs from the front wheel eyebrows to the taillights. With the new style of two-color large-size wheels, the overall sense of movement is full. At the rear, the car uses through-type taillights, and the Volkswagen LOGO can also be lit. Together with the red reflective strips below, it greatly enhances the sense of hierarchy at the rear of the car. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4990/1854/1487mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2871mm.
The changes in the interior of the new Magotan are even more significant. The new car is equipped with three large screens, a full LCD instrument, a large-sized floating central control screen, and a co-pilot entertainment screen. In terms of technology, it is not inferior to the current new car-making forces. The new car adopts a pocket design, leaving a larger storage space in the lower part of the center console. In addition, the new car will be significantly upgraded in terms of intelligence and will be equipped with DJI’s newly released intelligent driving solution.
In terms of power, according to previous declaration information, the new Magotan will provide consumers with a 1.5T four-cylinder engine and a 2.0T engine for consumers to choose from. The former has a maximum power of 118 kilowatts, and the latter has a maximum power of 162 kilowatts.
