SAIC Volkswagen’s 2024 Tharu was launched, with a total of 5 models launched, with a price range of 158,600 to 216,600 RMB. This annual facelift is mainly optimized for configuration, providing 1.5T and 2.0T power.
It is noticed that in terms of appearance, the new Tharu maintains the overall design of the 2023 model, with a through-type light strip and silver decoration on the front face, which enhances the visual layering. The rear is equipped with an illuminated brand logo and through-type taillights, which improves the vehicle’s recognition. The body length, width and height are 4458/1841/1632 mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2680 mm.
The interior maintains a symmetrical design, and the new models have added E-Call emergency call system, HiCar mobile phone interconnection function and IQ. intelligent car connection system on some models.
In terms of power system, the new Tharu offers 1.5T and 2.0T engines. The maximum power of the 1.5T engine is 118 kW and the maximum torque is 250 N·m; the maximum power of the 2.0T engine is 137 kW and the maximum torque is 320 N·m. In terms of transmission system, the 1.5T engine is paired with a DQ200 7-speed dry dual-clutch gearbox, while the 2.0T engine is paired with a DQ381 7-speed wet dual-clutch gearbox.
