Hyundai recently announced that the 11th-generation Sonata rolled off the production line at the Beijing factory, which marked Beijing Hyundai’s official entry into the “12 million car company club.”
According to reports, Beijing Hyundai is the fifth joint venture car company in the Chinese market to achieve 12 million vehicles rolling off the production line. Other brands include SAIC-Volkswagen, which joined in 2014, FAW-Volkswagen, which joined in 2016, Dongfeng Nissan, which joined in 2020, and Dongfeng Nissan, which joined in 2020. Joined by SAIC-GM.
According to previous reports, the eleventh-generation Sonata has been unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show. It adopts the unified design of the global ONE MODEL and its appearance is inspired by “Star Battleship”. The car was declared with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in November. Its length, width and height are 4945/1860/1445mm respectively, and its wheelbase is 2875mm. The interior of the car is equipped with dual 12.3-inch panoramic curved screens, a rotating electronic handrail, and the configuration will focus on intelligence.
The car is equipped with the new Hyundai Smartsense “intelligent heart and one” safety system, which provides up to 27 assisted driving functions, supports OTA upgrades, fingerprint recognition, identity recognition, seat memory and other functions, and is the first digital key in the Chinese market.
In terms of power, the new Sonata will be equipped with two turbocharged four-cylinder engines, 1.5T and 2.0T, with maximum power of 125 kW and 184 kW respectively. All series will be matched with an 8-speed automatic manual transmission.
