Today, the official administrator of Deepin, the domestic operating system, posted a post in the community, announcing that the Deepin 23 preview version system will be officially released in August. It is reported that the preview version of Deepin 23 will be an operating system developed by the Deepin community based on the concept of the root community. It combines the open source advantages of the community and has a large number of innovative technologies.

The release is expected to be no longer dependent on upstream distributions but built on Linux kernel and other open source components, providing basic services and roots for the gradual establishment of independent upstream.

According to the official preview, Deepin version 23 will have the advantages of a non-dependent package format, modern graphics development libraries and support for next-generation graphics display protocols, support for atomic updates, and cross-upstream and cross-end collaboration.

The specific features will be introduced gradually, according to the official statement.

Back in May this year, Deepin announced that it would build a China-led root community for desktop operating systems based on the Deepin community, and create a root system for desktop operating systems in China.

The launch of Deepin 23 will be the initial result of Deepin’s root community plan.
