New Audi Q2/SQ2 official images released, with 8.8-inch central touch screen

Audi announced that it will upgrade its compact SUVs Q2 and SQ2 in mid-2024. The appearance of the new cars will basically remain the same as the current models, and the interior screens and human-computer interaction functions will be upgraded.

It is noticed that the most intuitive change of the new car will be reflected in the interior of the cockpit. The new Audi virtual cockpit will become standard across the range, providing drivers with a 12.3-inch full HD display (1920 x 720 pixels). Compared with the traditional instrument panel, the virtual cockpit can display richer information, such as vehicle speed, rpm, navigation information or media information, etc. The driver can switch between different views via buttons on the multifunction steering wheel and select different display styles according to requirements, such as Sport with red accents or Dynamic with contrasting accents.

At the same time, the new car will also be equipped with a larger 8.8-inch MMI central touch display with a resolution of 1270 x 720 pixels, higher brightness and faster response. In addition to touch operations, the new system also supports natural speech recognition. It is worth mentioning that the original knob button on the center console has been replaced by a storage compartment.

The smart connectivity features of the new Audi Q2 and SQ2 have also been upgraded. The standard MMI Radio system integrates a DAB tuner, two Type-C data interfaces at the front of the center console, an emergency call function and the Audi connect service. Audi connect services cover many practical functions, such as remotely viewing vehicle information, unlocking doors, and checking fuel levels.

MMI Navigation plus is a navigation information package provided for top-of-the-line models, which includes high-resolution satellite maps, online services provided by Google, etc. Thanks to this, the navigation map can be completely projected into the Audi virtual cockpit, making it convenient for the driver to view the map while obtaining other driving data. This package updates map data monthly, ensuring users always have the latest maps for 36 months after purchase. In addition, MMI Navigation plus also includes more online services, such as real-time traffic information, parking information, online radio stations and online music recognition. The Audi connect system always uses an embedded SIM card (e-SIM) for Internet access.

As options, a 13-speaker premium sound system from Sonos and an Audi phone box will further enhance the in-car entertainment experience. The mobile phone box allows users to easily interconnect their smartphones with the MMI system and simultaneously enhance the phone signal (5G / LTE) to ensure call quality.

In terms of power, the new Audi Q2 offers 1.5T gasoline engine and 2.0T diesel engine options in overseas markets. The Audi SQ2 is equipped with a 2.0T engine with a maximum power of 221 kilowatts and a peak torque of 400 Nm. The transmission part is a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
