The official said that it will shut down “Overwatch” on April 10, 2023, when the server will stop operating. However, no official reason was given for the shutdown.
The game was released in 2022 on Android and iOS platforms and is a 5V5 first-person shooter from NetEase, which took the top 100 lists in several countries and regions during its public test in Southeast Asia.
Riot filed a lawsuit against NetEase, the operator of the handheld game “Overwatch”, on the grounds of copyright infringement, in the UK, Germany, Brazil and Singapore. The lawsuit was filed in the United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil and Singapore. Fist claimed that “Overwatch” allegedly copied its “Valorant”, saying that “Overwatch” “copied and pasted most of the content of the “Valorant”.
