Musk’s lawyer makes new demand: Ask Twitter to hand over list of employees who counted bot accounts

BEIJING, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) — Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s legal team has reportedly asked Twitter for the names of employees who counted the number of bot accounts and spam accounts, according to people familiar with the matter.

Twitter demanded that Musk must complete the $44 billion acquisition deal, but Musk argued that the data provided by Twitter on bot and spam accounts was untrue, an issue that became a point of contention between the two sides.

Last month, Musk said it was terminating the deal because Twitter refused to provide the data. Twitter sued Musk to force it to complete the deal, adding that the issue was irrelevant to the agreement.

The case will go to trial in Delaware on Oct. 17.

Musk’s legal team has asked the judge overseeing the case to force Twitter to hand over a list of employees so the lawyers can ask questions, people familiar with the case said.
