MSI releases PCIe 4.0 extension cable for vertical graphics card installation

MSI today announced a dedicated extension cable for graphics cards that supports PCIe 4.0 full-speed operation.

According to the introduction, this extension cable supports full x16 lanes and is compatible with various PCIe 4.0 graphics cards, including RTX 40 and 30 series graphics cards. The extension cable features a reinforced cable design with an internal dual-core construction and aluminum surround to ensure that the card will continue to run at PCI-E 4.0 speeds. The part of the cable that holds the extension is also made of stronger material to make the cable installation more stable.

MSI says the extension cable will be available soon for a variety of MSI motherboards that support PCIe 4.0, with a retail price to be announced at a later date.
