Lenovo once again hits the flagship Android market with a new smartphone, this time the Motorola Moto X40. In terms of its design, this device is simple yet classic and attractive, like other devices in its predeceasing X30 series. This new flagship smartphone from the Lenovo-owned smartphone manufacturing company, Motorola, comes with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.

This is Qualcomm’s next-generation high-performance processor for flagship-level devices. At this time there are only a few devices with this processor from companies like Vivo, Xiaomi, and now Motorola. The new Motorola Moto X40 offers users a taste of the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC before most other smartphone manufacturers.

Joining this processor is a 12GB memory capacity with up to 512GB worth of storage capacity. The screen size of this device is a 6.7-inch OLED HDR10+ panel supporting a 165Hz refresh rate. This is the first Motorola device with a 165Hz refresh rate screen for quick responses.

For its camera abilities, this device comes with a triple rear camera setup with two 50MP cameras and a 12MP additional camera. The selfie camera on this device is a 60MP lens and sits in the centre cutout of the device. With the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, this device is capable of taking crisp photos and video.

The new Motorola Moto X40 comes with Android 13 software running on My UI 5.0 with available upgrades. Also, this device comes with a 4600mAh battery capacity supporting 125W fast charging and an IP68 rating. The starting price of this device starts at $490 for its base storage model and will soon be available globally.
