China Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has certified the Motorola 200MP device XT2251-1. This certification came along with a second Motorola device XT2243-2. Both devices will launch in the second half of 2022 under the Edge series.
Certification of these two devices didn’t come with any core specifications and features aside from their connection parameters. Our source Li Ang Ang Ang via their Weibo account gave the processor that the Motorola 200MP device will use. The Weibo post clearly states that the processor will be the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.

We were able to deduce the device to have 200MP due to previous leaks. These leaks point out that Motorola’s first 8+ Gen 1 device will come with a massive 200MP rear camera sensor. This sensor will be the first of its kind in the world of mobile photography.
Other information on this device point to its screen size as being a 6.67-inch OLED waterfall screen with a 144Hz refresh rate. In addition to the 200MP rear camera, our sources also claim that this device will come with a 64MP front-facing camera. The battery capacity is unknown, but leaks claim that it will charge at 125W.
This device might just pack the ability to redefine the smartphone photography experience. But, the Motorola XT2243-2 might launch in the midrange segment as a 5G smartphone. It will also arrive in the second half of the year, whether it’d launch with the 200MP device or not, we can’t tell.
