So far, Motorola has launched various Moto G smartphones this year. Two of them are Moto G Stylus 2022 and Moto G Power 2022. There will be further versions available soon. The company just announced two 5G-capable low-end phones, the Moto G 5G (2022) and the Moto G Stylus 5G (2022). The products appear to be some of the worst offers currently available. It can be easily noticed in the budget smartphone market – even in the unviable United States market.

Moto G 5G (2022) and Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) Specifications and Price

The Moto G 5G (2022) and Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) share a lot of features. It includes the same 5,000mAh battery, 10W wired charging, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. It also includes a microSD card slot, 3.5 mm audio jack, and a 50MP main camera powered by Android 12. Motorola is offering only one OS upgrade for both phones, probably to Android 13. The company is also offering “up to three years” of security updates.

However, the parallels end there. The Moto G 5G is somewhat smaller, featuring a 6.6-inch 720p display, whereas the Moto G Stylus features a wider 6.8-inch display with a quicker 120Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the phones use different chipsets: the Moto G features a MediaTek Dimensity 700, while the Moto G Stylus features a Snapdragon 695. Additionally, the Moto G Stylus has a larger minimum storage capacity and the integration of NFC. That’s correct; the standard Moto G 5G lacks NFC functionality.

On May 19, Motorola plans to start retailing the Moto G 5G carrier-unlocked in the US. It will be sold through Best Buy, Walmart, and Amazon. The company also plans to retail it through Motorola.com in the United States. The carrier-unlocked Moto G Stylus will be available earlier, on April 28. It will be sold on Amazon, Walmart, and Motorola.com, with pre-orders beginning April 21 at select stores. Despite its mid-range hardware and average software support, the Moto G 5G will cost $399.99 in the United States. On the other hand, Moto G Stylus will cost $499.

The non-5G Moto G Stylus is currently available for $280. It looks to be the most costly Moto G phone in the US by a large margin. There look to be multiple superior, economical Android-based selections throughout the US unless you really require a stylus. In the United States, the Galaxy A53 5G costs $450 and comes with an Exynos 1280 processor. It is nearly as fast as the Snapdragon 695 inside the Moto G Stylus although it uses less power. The device offers faster 25W charging, IP67 water and dust resistance. It also includes four years of Android OS and security updates. The Pixel 5a 5G is likewise the same price and comes with Google’s stock Android and updates through August 2024.
