Intel’s gaming card business is stumbling, as a new entrant, they still have a lot of pressure to compete with AMD and NVIDIA, but However, in the other GPU business – mining cards, Intel has achieved more than expected, much smoother than gaming cards.

Strictly speaking, Intel launched not a mining card, but an energy-efficient blockchain gas pedal Blockscale ASIC, which claims that the energy efficiency ratio of SHA-256 algorithm mining performance is more than 1000 times that of mainstream GPU graphics cards.

According to the official introduction, Intel Blockscale ASIC uses the Flip-chip LGA 132-ball package style with a size of 7.5 x 7 mm and an operating temperature range of 50-85°C with integrated temperature and voltage sensors.

It has a built-in SHA-256 hardware acceleration unit, a bitcoin mining arithmetic power up to 580GH/s, and power consumption of 4.8-22.7W, which translates into energy efficiency up to 26J/TH.

It supports up to 256 units to form a system, UART serial communication, and variable baud rate of up to 10Mbps.

According to Intel at today’s earnings meeting, the Blockscale ASIC reached an important milestone in the second quarter, shipping revenue-generating products to major customers, and completing data entry to shipment in less than a year.

Intel expects to ship millions of units of the product this year, which was not previously covered in the forecast at the beginning of the year, meaning that these operations were not expected.
