Montage Technology announced today the launch of the industry’s first DDR5 third-generation Registered Clock Driver (RCD or DDR5 RCD03 for short) engineering sample, which will be used in a new generation of server memory modules.
According to Montage Technology data, the data rate supported by the third-generation DDR5 RCD chip is as high as 6400MT/s, which is 14.3% higher than the second-generation RCD chip and 33.3% higher than the first-generation RCD chip.
Montage Technology has learned that Montage Technology said that the DDR5 RCD03 engineering sample launched this time is an important upgrade of the company’s DDR5 RCD product according to the JEDEC DDR5 memory standard, and has sent samples to mainstream memory manufacturers in the industry.
Currently, the global memory industry is in the transition stage from DDR4 to DDR5. Montage Technology’s first-generation RCD chip was mass-produced and shipped in October last year; the second-generation RCD chip was the first to be trial-produced in the industry in May this year, and mass production is imminent; the third-generation RCD chip is now underway Sample delivery. In the future, Montage Technology will also plan higher-speed DDR5 RCD offspring products.
