Minisforum launches NUCXI5 and NUCXI7 ultra-thin desktop hosts starting at $859

With the rapid development of hardware performance, consumers with limited desktop space are becoming more and more receptive to compact desktop computers. In this article, we introduce the NUCXI5 and NUCXI7 ultra-slim desktop PCs from Minisforum. While most of the commercially available competing products only have integrated core graphics, Minisforum brings an option based on NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 30 series of discrete graphics.

(From: Minisforum official website)

As the name suggests, the two models are equipped with Intel Core i5 / i7 processors respectively. However, Minisforum chose the 11th generation i5-11400H and i7-11800H mobile standard voltage SKUs for their compact bodies for power consumption and heat dissipation considerations.

The NUCXI5 and NUCXI7 are equipped with Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 6GB / 3070 8GB GPUs respectively, while the dual fan cooler on the back provides 1300+ cooling holes and four large air vents on the side.

The large heat sink assembly covered inside the machine can further reduce the hardware temperature to better utilize the raw performance of NUCXI5 / NUCXI7.

For storage, the series of slim hosts support 64GB DDR4 dual-channel SO-DIMM memory + 2TB dual M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 / NGFF SATA SSD slots and can be pre-installed with Windows 11 Professional OS.

Both hosts measure just 8.0 x 26 x 39.4 cm and can be connected to two displays via 1 x HDMI (4K @ 60Hz) + 1 x Thunderbolt 4 (8K @ 60Hz) ports.

It also provides 3 × USB 3.2 Type-A, 1 × 3.5mm headphone jack, and accepts 19.5V power adapter input.

For networking, it supports Bluetooth + dual-band Wi-Fi (M.2 2230 wireless adapter) and 2.5 GbE wired Ethernet.

Interested parties can purchase directly through the Minisforum website, starting at $859 (~5792 RMB) for the main system without RAM and SSD, and with optional 16/32GB RAM + 256/512GB and 1TB solid state drives.

In addition, customers can choose to pre-install Windows 11 Professional or any other Linux distribution they prefer.
