Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass Core to Replace Xbox Gold membership service

Microsoft’s chopper department is ready for Xbox Live Gold, according to foreign media Windows Central reports, since September 1, Microsoft will cut off has been operating for 21 years of Xbox Live Gold (gold member) service.

Microsoft is reportedly launching a new Xbox Game Pass level as a successor to Xbox Live Gold, called Xbox Game Pass Core, similar to Sony’s “PlayStation Plus Basic” for the PlayStation platform. The Xbox Game Pass Core tier is similar to Sony’s PlayStation Plus Basic tier for the PlayStation platform and will serve as the cheapest option for Xbox gamers, bringing online gaming and other features to Xbox gamers.

Windows Central said that the pricing for Xbox Game Pass Core is the same as Xbox Live Gold, which is still $9.99 per month (about RMB 71.33) and $59.99 per year (about RMB 428.33).

In addition, although the service is called “Xbox Game Pass Core”, in fact, can not use the standard version of the Xbox Game Pass game library, Microsoft plans to provide a “castrated version” of the game library for this level, will contain Microsoft plans to offer a “neutered” library for this tier, which will contain more than 25 games from the Xbox Game Pass library, with updates to the library every few months.

Since Xbox Game Pass Core doesn’t have a “New games on day one” label (the other three Game Pass services do), games such as Stars Hollow won’t actually be in the Core’s library on launch day.

Microsoft will no longer offer exclusive Live Gold discounts on games since Xbox Live Gold will no longer exist, but those who subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Core will still receive the discounts available to Game Pass subscribers, the media said.
