According to a list published by the United States Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO), Microsoft recently obtained a technology patent, introducing a new system suitable for Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 applications, which can be based on the user’s Use preferences to recommend new features.
Microsoft’s patent believes that different users may have different interaction methods and different experiences when using services, social media or collaborative websites. When Microsoft promotes new UI or new features, these changes may make users feel uncomfortable and uneasy.
Microsoft has designed a new feature push system for this purpose. This technology does not stop updating Microsoft 365 or other applications, but uses machine learning, intelligent user experience, and collaboration services to gain a deeper understanding of user behavior through collected relevant data.
Microsoft will evaluate new features on a personalized basis based on these user behavior indicators and recommend different new features to different users.
Note: Microsoft can set a threshold for each new feature, and then compare it with the user’s preference score. If it is equal to or greater than the threshold, it will be updated; if not, it will not be updated.
The system is fully intelligent and operates on its own without human input, although the technology has the option of being validated and adjusted by an IT manager or organizational manager.
