Microsoft announced at its Build 2023 developer conference today that it is introducing a natural language AI chatbot for the Windows Terminal app – the GitHub Copilot Chat experience – and plans to open it to the public soon.
Microsoft Windows Division head Panos Panay said in a blog post released today, translated by IT House as follows: GitHub Copilot users in inline and experimental chat experiences, natural language AI can recommend commands, explain errors, and help users take follow-up actions.
Microsoft launched Windows Terminal at the 2019 Build Developers Conference to become the official popular modification tool for the Win10 platform; and it was integrated last year to become the default command line management tool for Win11 systems.
Microsoft continues to enhance Windows Terminal, optimizing the regular features and integrating GitHub Copilot AI to give it more development tools such as WinDbg, a popular tool for IT administrators to resolve Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) errors by analyzing the memory dumps generated by Windows.
