HDR Desktop Wallpaper

Narrator Natural Voices in French, Portuguese, English (Indian), German and Korean

This release introduces new natural voices in French, Portuguese, English (India), German and Korean, allowing Narrator users to comfortably browse the web, read and compose emails. The "Natural Narrator" voices use text-to-speech conversion on modern devices and can be supported without an Internet connection after download.

Windows 365

Windows Insiders in the Dev and Beta channels can participate in a public preview of Windows 365 Switch, which provides the ability to easily move between a Windows 365 cloud PC and a local desktop using the same familiar keyboard commands, as well as mouse clicks or swipe gestures via Task View on the Windows 11 taskbar. Taskbar and System Tray

Never merge mode setting for the taskbar is shown in Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Toolbar Behavior. "Toolbar Behavior, but could not be enabled. Microsoft has temporarily removed this setting to resolve the issue. This feature will be available in Beta Preview soon.

File Explorer

In addition to the sharing icon at the top of the context menu, this version adds "Sharing" to the context menu of File Explorer.

Added more fields to be displayed in the Details pane, including image size for pictures, number of pages in a .docx, used space on a drive, and free information.

Windows Spotlight

After an operating system update, in some cases, such as with the default Windows 11 background or solid colors, the Windows Spotlight spotlight wallpaper may be enabled for users. If you don't want to enable Windows Spotlight, you can turn it off manually and turn it on again manually later.

File Explorer

Fixed an issue that caused File Explorer to crash when navigating to the home page, as well as a number of other issues that caused crashes.

Fixed a memory leak in File Explorer that could cause Explorer.exe to crash and other long-term usage issues.

Fixes an issue where fixing and unfixing favorite files might not work after refreshing the home page.

Fixed an issue where tooltips would get stuck on the screen when using touch to scroll the home page.

Fixed an issue where collapsing and expanding the Home section did not always work.

Fixed an issue where Home and Gallery could be the wrong color if they were open when switching between light and dark modes.

Fixed an issue where thumbnails in Gallery might not load after changing the view to a smaller icon size (e.g. from medium to small).

Made some minor adjustments to element sizes, including reducing the size of text.

ALT+D, CTRL+L and F4 keyboard shortcuts should now set focus to the address bar.

Fixed an issue where typing drive letter, %localappdata% and certain other things in the address bar would not cause the suggested path to appear in the drop-down list.

Fixes an issue where the icons displayed in the File Explorer tab could be out of sync with the current folder after navigation.

Fixes an issue that caused File Explorer to display "Processing" in empty folders.

Fixed an issue where images in the Details pane could become blurred after resizing the File Explorer window.

Fixed an issue where the design of the Details pane was displayed from left to right instead of right to left when the language was displayed in Hebrew or Arabic.

Fixes an issue where the text box used to name newly created files or folders on the desktop was displayed in the wrong position (far or too close) relative to the thumbnail.

Fixes an issue where the ALT+P and Shift+ALT+P keyboard shortcuts did not work when the focus was set to an image in Gallery.

Fixed an issue where right-clicking on an item in the navigation pane would not open the context menu after changing folders.

Fixed an issue that caused explorer.exe to crash when trying to access an FTP address.

Fixed an issue where selecting the drop-down arrow in the address bar would open a blank menu.

Dynamic Lighting (RGB Lighting Setup Tool)

Fixed an issue where devices could be shown as empty boxes in Settings > Personalization > Dynamic Lighting.

Known Issues

An issue is being fixed that causes explorer.exe to crash on the login screen when trying to enter safe mode.

In some cases, the context menu background in File Explorer may appear transparent.

In some cases, the icons on the desktop may be all empty. If this happens, it can be fixed using the Refresh option in the desktop context menu.

An issue is being fixed that causes the Safely Remove Hardware icon to not display as expected in the system tray.

An issue is being fixed that causes some users to be unable to type properly using Japanese and Chinese input methods.

Users may see some strings not localized to the selected language, which will be addressed in a future release.
