Microsoft will introduce a new option in Win11 system

According to the latest screenshots of Win11 shared by @thebookisclosed, Microsoft will soon introduce the “Experimental Features” option in the Win11 “Settings” application. The Experimental Features option will allow users to enable and disable a certain experimental feature/function.

This new option in January this year, users can visit Settings > Windows Update > Windows Preview Experience Program Users can visit “Settings” > “Windows Update” > “Windows Preview Experience Program” to see this “Experimental Features” option.

According to the latest screenshot, this experimental feature/feature is currently only used to provide root access for Moment updates.

This feature has its own folder in the “SystemApps” system folder, which contains information about these features. This feature is similar to ViveTool and allows Windows Insider members to test some hidden features/functions that are not ready yet.

But this setting does not mean that the ViveTool tool is obsolete, after all, it is unlikely that Microsoft will provide all the hidden features in this way.

Sources say that Microsoft introduced this new setting in the 25267.1001 (rs_wdatp_edr.221212-1900) update released last year.

In addition, there is news that in the latest Win11 preview version of the Canary Channel, use the ViveTool tool to run “vivetool /enable /id:40062046”, currently foreign technology media testing can not be enabled.

The ViveTool tool to enable the above new features and functions: 1:

  • Download the Vivetool tool from the GitHub page and unzip it to any folder, but remember the path to the folder (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\ViVeTool-v0.3.2)
  • 2. Press the Win key (or use the mouse) to open the Start menu, type “cmd”, and then select “Open Command Prompt with administrator privileges”.
  • Use the cd command to jump to the ViveTool folder, e.g. “cd C:\Program Files (x86)\ViVeTool-v0.3.2”
  • then type vivetool /enable /id:40062046 and press enter
  • restart your computer
