Microsoft urges Win8.1 users to upgrade to Windows 10/ Windows 11 as soon as possible

After the first reminder in June, Microsoft recently issued another reminder to Win8.1 users, urging them to upgrade to the Win10/11 system as soon as possible. Obviously, Microsoft prefers users to “one step” and directly skip Win10 to upgrade to Win11.

Microsoft writes in the alert.

"Win8.1 devices will cease to be supported on January 10, 2023, and Microsoft will no longer provide the following services thereafter

Technical support for any issues

Software updates

Security updates or fixes

While you can continue to use a computer running Windows 8.1, without ongoing software and security updates, your computer will be at greater risk for viruses and malware. We recommend upgrading to a version of Windows that is still supported. A new device that can run Windows 11 will make the transition easy and give you a great experience."

As the Win8.1 system is about to withdraw from the stage of history, Microsoft is pushing more devices to upgrade to the Win11 system. The Win11 system has higher threshold restrictions on TPM, processor, etc., so Microsoft is also recommending you to upgrade your device in disguise.
