Microsoft to invest billions in CoreWeave, to provide computing power for ChatGPT

According to CNBC, Microsoft recently announced that it will invest billions of dollars in artificial intelligence startup CoreWeave, and the two sides will work together to build an artificial intelligence computing infrastructure through the Microsoft Azure cloud services platform.

The report said that Microsoft will provide funding and Azure cloud services resources for the partnership. The company said that it will be able to provide more computing resources for artificial intelligence with CoreWeave’s GPU virtualization computing power. The agreement between Microsoft and CoreWeave includes provisions for OpenAI, and CoreWeave will help ChatGPT improve its AI performance through collaborative computing in the cloud, according to the report.

The company is currently providing virtualized computing power through NVIDIA A100 and A40 GPU clusters and has recently announced the construction of NVIDIA H100 clusters to provide higher AI computing power. Previously, NVIDIA had invested $100 million in CoreWeave.

The company’s mission is to help more enterprises leverage the arithmetic power of GPUs online.
