Earlier this year, Microsoft launched its Teams Premium service for enterprise customers. Today, the company announced a new feature that is now officially live for Teams Premium users. The feature, called intelligent meeting recap, is a great help for employees who are absent from online meetings or who want to review what was discussed in a meeting.
Microsoft says that according to its research, 56 percent of Teams meeting participants say it’s difficult to summarize what happened in a meeting, and 55 percent of users say they’re not sure what to do after a meeting, and the Smart Meeting Recap feature can help in both areas.
According to Microsoft:
Smart Recap uses artificial intelligence to automatically provide a comprehensive overview of the meeting, helping users save time and coordinate their next steps. Under the new "Recap" tab in the Teams calendar and chat, users will see AI-provided insights such as automatically generated meeting notes, recommended tasks and personalized highlights to help users quickly find the most important information, even if you missed the meeting.
Smart Meeting Recap also includes a number of other features, such as personalized time stamps. This feature will show each user the time their name was mentioned, the time they entered and left the meeting, and the time the screen was shared. There are also speaker time markers that mark when each participant spoke in the meeting so that people can go back and see exactly when it happened.
Currently, the Smart Recap feature available to Premium users only supports English, but support for other languages will be added later this year.
