Microsoft streamlines Office applications for mobile, two features to be retired at the end of the year

Microsoft started a new round of improvements to its mobile Office app last month in order to provide a more unified interactive experience. This improvement will certainly introduce new features, but will also cut some redundant or use the frequency is not high function. Today Microsoft officially announced that two features will be removed from mobile Office at the end of this year.

This feature allows you to transfer files between Office applications and your computer. The process involves opening a URL and scanning a QR code to pair the two devices and transfer the content. Microsoft thinks this could easily be replaced by OneDrive, which is “seamlessly” integrated into Office so that you can access shared content on any device. As a result, Transfer Files will be retired on December 31, 2022, and previously transferred files will not be affected.

As the name suggests, the allows content to be shared between nearby Android devices. However, Microsoft doesn’t think this capability will meet all of its customers’ current content-sharing needs. As a result, it will retire on December 31, 2022, and previously shared files will be unaffected.

Microsoft is driving the mobile version of Microsoft 365 apps by streamlining redundant features and adding new ones to provide more value to customers with a consistent, reliable and productivity-enhancing solution.
