Microsoft China today issued a statement, in response to some domestic self-media spread a few days ago about the misunderstanding of individual users of Microsoft consumer products and services, and the relevant instructions.
Microsoft said:
"Microsoft always strictly abides by all laws and regulations regarding personal privacy protection and data security. All products and services provided by Microsoft, as well as cross-border data management, are strictly in compliance with laws and regulations. Microsoft is committed to protecting and safeguarding user privacy. When processing personal data, Microsoft collects only the minimum data necessary to provide and maintain its services, excluding data stored in applications and on devices by individual users, to the extent permitted by law and with the user's permission. Microsoft is committed to safeguarding the privacy of its customers, and in keeping with the principles of lawfulness, compliance, openness and transparency, we provide detailed information and specifications in the Microsoft Privacy Statement regarding the types of data collected from individual users, how that data is used and the procedures followed to process it. Microsoft helps users strengthen their control over their data while ensuring that every user of our products and services has a choice about privacy and defending their privacy choices."

Some users’ feedback, in the Microsoft Office 365 login, there is a “your data will be processed outside your country or region” prompt instruction.
