Skype introduces a new theme and a new color scheme to make the interface more visible. Microsoft has also updated the accessibility color theme to help visually impaired people see content better.
Microsoft said Skype has also optimized the mobile calling experience, calling it the “best mobile video calling experience.” Microsoft has also made some technical improvements to improve the stability and performance of any video call. The company’s official blog post mentions that “all the controls and actions you need when making video calls on your phone just got easier.” These upcoming changes will be available to Skype Insiders first.
The new Skype also has a “Today” tab, where Microsoft aggregates personalized articles and news stories from trusted sources around the world for you to read and share within Skype. You can personalize which stories it chooses for you. You don’t need to buy a subscription to read and share news via Skype.
