The Windows Server vNext Build 25346 Preview is a new version of the Windows Server vNext Build, which was released today after Microsoft released the Win11 update for the Canary Channel on April 20.
As usual, Microsoft has not published a full changelog, but only a short blog post. The preview update is in sync with the Win11 Canary channel version and the post does not mention improvements, but only informs of known issues.
The known issues include:
- There is a problem with the preview release: archiving the event log using the “wevetutil al” command causes the Windows Event Log service to crash and the archive operation to fail. The service must be restarted by executing “Start-Service EventLog” from the administrative command line prompt.
- If you have the Secure Launch / DRTM code path enabled, Microsoft does not recommend installing this preview.
The branding of Server has not been updated and remains Windows Server 2022 in the preview.
Available for download:
- Windows Server LTSC Preview in 18 languages in ISO format and in VHDX format in English only.
- Windows Server Datacenter Azure Preview in ISO and VHDX formats, English only.
- Microsoft Server Language and Optional Features Preview
The key is valid only for the preview version:
- Server Standard: MFY9F-XBN2F-TYFMP-CCV49-RMYVH
- Data Center: 2KNJJ-33Y9H-2GXGX-KMQWH-G6H67
- The Azure version does not accept keys
Microsoft also notes that this preview version will expire on September 15, 2023.
