Microsoft Releases Windows 11 Build 22621.1690 Beta Preview Update

Microsoft has released the KB5026447 update for the Windows Insider program members of the Beta channel for Win11, with the version number rising to Build 22621.1690 and Build 22624.1690 after installation.

Insider members who previously used Build 22623 will automatically move to Build 22624 by enabling the package.

  • Build 22624.1690 = New features/functionality enabled by default
  • Build 22621.1690 = Disable new features/functionality by default

New features:
Introduction of Facebook widgets

Facebook has launched a preview version of its widgets. Interested users can visit the Microsoft Store and download the Facebook app or update to the latest version of the app.

Then open the widget board and navigate to the widget selector by clicking the “+” button in the upper right corner of the board to pin your widget.

Microsoft also recommends that users submit feedback and comments. After you try this and other new widgets, you can let us know what you think via the widget feedback link in the widget selector.

As more developers create and publish widgets for their applications, you should see more new widgets.
Win11 Build 22624.1690 and Build 22621.1690 preview version updates have the following improvements:

[General]

Microsoft has tried to add a reminder under Settings > Accounts to suggest that users add a secondary email address or phone number to their Microsoft account to ensure that they never lose access to their account.

[Start Menu]

We are trying to make small changes to some members of the Windows Preview experience by changing the Recommended section of the Start menu to “Recommended for You “For You.
Win11 Build 22624.1690 and Build 22621.1690 preview version updates fix the following:

[Enter]

  • Fixed an issue where launching Touch Keyboard / PIN input on the login screen could cause a crash.

[Notifications]

  • Fixed another unrecognized 2FA code pattern.

[Task Manager]

  • Fixed an issue with random processes being grouped under Microsoft Edge.
  • Fixed an issue that affected the reliability of the Task Manager.
  • Improved comparison theme and enhanced visibility of search icons.
  • Narrowed navigation panel.
  • Create Live Kernel Memory Dump File submenu now has access keys.
  • When the keyboard focus is on a section of the Performance page (e.g. Memory), pressing Enter now switches to the corresponding section.
  • The window can be resized at the top of the Task Manager window.
