Microsoft releases Windows 11 Beta 22635.2552 preview

Microsoft today released the KB5031448 update for Win11 to members of the Windows Insider project in the Beta channel. After users install it, the version number rises to Build 22635.2552.

Microsoft has recently adjusted the Beta channel. It no longer separates the Build 22621.x and Build 22631.x preview updates, but uses the Build 22635.x update uniformly.

Win11 Build 22635.2552 preview version improvements:

[set up]

  • The system components listed in the “Settings” > “Applications” > “Installed Applications” page have been migrated to “Settings” > “System” > “System Components”.
  • The Xbox Game Bar is now renamed Game Bar, and users can adjust it under Settings > Games.

Win11 Build 22635.2552 preview version fixes:

  • New: After users install this update, they will see new customization options for Dynamic Lighting OEMs, including setting dynamic lighting defaults.
  • Croatia’s currency changed from the Kuna to the Euro.
  • Fixed an issue where the mobile operator’s name was incorrect in cellular network settings.
  • This update fixes the issue where Windows Hello facial recognition cannot be set up after running button reset, mainly affecting devices that have Windows Enhanced Sign-in Security (ESS) enabled.
  • Fixed an issue affecting fontdrvhost.exe where users would stop responding when using Compact Font Format Version 2 (CFF2) fonts.
  • Fixed an issue affecting Windows Mixed Reality. The Microsoft Store stops responding when you try to access it using a Windows Mixed Reality headset.
  • Fixed an issue where the widget notification badge was in the wrong taskbar position.
  • Fixes an issue affecting PowerShell versions above 7.3.1. It may block scripts and not allow them to run in restricted language mode. This happens when you turn on the WDAC policy.
  • Fixed an issue affecting the auto-hide taskbar setting: it could not be set using SHAppBarMessage.
  • Fixed an issue affecting devices that have a Windows Information Protection (WIP) policy defined and a proxy set.
  • Fixed memory leak in ctfmon.exe.
  • Fixed an issue when adding printers based on their location when using Universal Printing.

  • This update resolves an issue affecting touch screens. They don’t work properly when you use multiple monitors.
  • Fixed an issue affecting Windows Firewall profiles. When you are on a domain-authenticated network, it detects the public domain.
  • Fixed an issue affecting Outlook. It stopped responding. This occurs when you print to an Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) printer that has a slow response time.
  • Fixed memory leak in TextInputHost.exe.
  • Fixed an issue affecting robocopy. The /efsraw switch prevents it from copying data correctly.
  • Fixed an error when printing with the v4 print driver.
  • Improved the performance of the search box experience.
  • Fixed firewall configuration service provider (CSP) issue.
  • Fixed an issue that blocked external connections after setting up the Kubernetes load balancing service and turning on session affinity.
  • Fixed an issue affecting Dynamic Lighting.
  • Fixed an issue affecting File Explorer.
  • Fixed an issue that caused explorer.exe to crash after taking a screenshot or moving the screenshot window.
