The feature is completely controlled by the player, and will automatically record the last 60 seconds of gameplay as soon as the player turns it on. Recorded clips are stored locally for 24 hours and can be reported immediately or at the end of the game. If the player chooses not to report it, the clip will be automatically deleted after 24 hours and will not be uploaded to the Xbox servers.
Microsoft says the clip is for review purposes only and cannot be downloaded, shared or modified. If Microsoft’s security team reviews the clip and determines that inappropriate behavior has occurred, they will take action against the offending player and notify the user who reported the behavior.
Microsoft described that the feature will be rolled out to English-speaking Xbox Insider players first.
Microsoft’s security team also emphasized that Xbox’s player reporting and evidence submission features now cover everything from text, images, video and voice and that Microsoft will continue its efforts to further support player safety.
It was previously reported, Microsoft Xbox business in the first fiscal quarter of 2024 (July 1 to September 30 this year) revenue is expected to exceed 3.6 billion U.S. dollars, refreshing the existing record of the first fiscal quarter.
