The news also pointed out that the Snapdragon version of Surface Pro 9 is equipped with the SQ3 processor jointly built by Microsoft and Qualcomm, the chip is actually Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen3, but Microsoft will officially call it “SQ3”.
It is reported that Snapdragon 8cx Gen3 uses 5nm process, is the first 5nm chip for the Windows platform, adopts Armv8 architecture, CPU performance increased by 85%, GPU performance increased by 60%, single-threaded performance increased by 40%, the chip’s artificial intelligence AI computing speed is more than 29TOPs, GPU part of energy efficiency increased by 40%.
Specifically, in terms of parameters, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen3 CPU part has four 3.0GHz large cores, four 2.4GHz small cores, a total of up to 14MB cache, and a TDP of about 15W.
In terms of scores, the Snapdragon 8cx Gen3 scored 5845 multi-core points in Geekbench, outperforming the Intel i7-1165G7 and i5-1235U, the latter two with Geekbench multi-core scores of 5080 and 5245 respectively.
