It is reported that this is not the first time Microsoft has hinted or expressed the existence of the next-generation operating system. Microsoft has alluded to the term “Next Valley Prototype Design” before, and it is said that the next-generation operating system is expected to be equipped with a desktop with a completely different appearance and a floating taskbar without a system tray.
In Microsoft’s previous Win 11 Build 23440 preview update released for the Dev channel, users can hide the time and date on the system tray. According to reports, this feature may match the Windows 12 feature description that Microsoft is testing internally.
There has been a lot of speculation that the next-generation Windows operating system will debut in 2024. Sources familiar with the development claim that Microsoft is optimizing the next-generation operating system for ARM processors, which will deeply integrate artificial intelligence and make major adjustments to the underlying architecture.
