Microsoft is inviting a small number of Canary channel users to test a new feature of the Microsoft Edge browser: remove non-essential functions/features based on user preferences.

This feature is not fully open at the moment, but a small number of Canary Channel users can open the settings page and find the “Optional Features” option, or they can access it directly by typing “edge://settings/ optionalFeatures” in the address bar to access it directly.
The description of “Optional Features” in Edge browser is basically the same as in Win10 / Win11, which is as follows:
Microsoft Edge now allows you to turn off optional browser features/features in order to provide you with the fastest browsing experience.
The page will list the available functions/features, and after clicking on them, the corresponding function/feature module will be downloaded to enable them.
