Microsoft announced the introduction of “Dev Home” and “Dev Drive” at the Build 2023 Developer Conference, hoping to make Win11 the most popular platform for developers.
Dev Home, or Developer Home, is now available on the Microsoft Store, an open-source project, and GitHub has just updated the latest 0.6 previews with three major updates:
Accessibility
- Buttons are no longer clipped or hidden when increasing zoom.
Changes
- Machine Configuration Summary now shows more detailed information
- The Machine Configuration Summary should now show the errors that occurred.
Bug Fixes
- Dashboards are more responsive when rendering widgets.
- Cloning a repo by entering a relative path via URL no longer causes Dev Home to crash.
- Machine Configuration banner no longer returns when cancelled
- Custom widgets no longer require a Microsoft package ID to appear in Dev Home.
- Margins on extension pages are now fixed
- Adding repositories is now more reliable.
- Machine Configuration Error Summary should now follow the correct theme
- Machine Configuration Errors can now be selected
